Nine years ago, I was still living in Florida with my family. We were preparing to move to our current home in Virginia, and it was on one day during the summer that I wanted to see a movie. This was a special movie, for it was one of the last movies I'd be seeing in Florida. This movie was... Thomas and the Magic Railroad.
I had invited a friend of mine to see the movie with me, and he had spent the night over at my house before we went to see the movie. After what seemed like an eternity, we piled into my mom's car and drove off to the movies. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait in line to buy tickets because my grandfather had preordered them for us.
It seemed like the movie trailers and commercials would be neverending, but at last "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" began. I was completely spellbound at seeing Thomas and the other engines on the big screen. I nearly jumped when Diesel 10 made his initial appearance in the movie, passing Thomas and Gordon at the station. The rest of the movie was awesome, and I couldn't help but laugh at the diesels' antics and marvel at the ultimate wonder of the Magic Railroad itself. The one thought I remember my mom having in regard to the movie was: Oh great, Peter Fonda's depressed in this one, too.
After the movie ended, I asked my mom to take me to Toys R Us to see if I could find any of the ERTLs of the movie characters. At the time, all I could find were the ERTL models of Lady and Diesel 10; I wouldn't get Splatter and Dodge until much later. When I got home, I noticed a review for the movie in a local newspaper. At the time, I had no idea why my mom wouldn't let me read it, but I know now that the movie was unsuccessful at the box office. Despite this, "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" will always hold a special place in my heart.

I love Lady too. She's just so pretty, and I love the scene where she comes to life. I also like the ending scene where Thomas rides off into the sunset. I'd love to have a huge screenshot of that scene and put it up as a piece of artwork once I get my own place with William. ^^
